Slightly Productive Guinny?
Kumusta everyone! I hope you're all good out there. Me? Well, to tell you honestly, I was not feeling okay these past few days. That feeling of emptiness, anxiety, and pressure just crawled on my skin and penetrated my brain and heart. I was always on the verge of crying; I didn't know what to do with it. And before I had a meltdown, I decided to uninstall my messaging application and isolate myself from everyone I know, even for just a few hours. I grabbed my things (calculator, pens, and the 1001 Solved Problems in Engineering Mathematics book) and went to a café, which is one-jeepney ride away. I stayed there for a few hours, studying the book, while eating oreo cheesecake! It's delicious but I may prefer the original one? What was I trying to do here? When life gets too tough, try to take a step back, take a moment for yourself to unwind and seek that inner peace. Maybe you'll see life on a different perspective.

Anyway, aside from that, what really helped me overcome those unwanted moments was music. I have been listening to Tuloy Pa Rin by Neocolours and Umaaraw, Umuulan by Rivermaya. These songs helped me rewire my thoughts and calmed me down. They basically tell me that no matter what happens in life, I just have to push through. People come and go, some things may not fall into place, and the pressure might be too harsh, but life must still go on. We still have a beautiful life to live and witness. That thought is what keeps me going. It keeps my hope burning.
Okay, that introduction was kind of too serious and emotional. Moving on to a completely different topic, today was a slightly productive day for me, King Guinny! I went to a call with my bestfriend, Mari of North Pole, and there, we just did our own businesses while occasionally chitchatting. It just feels nice to have someone as a companion.
I proudly showed her the tracker that I use whenever I study Engineering Mathematics. I, myself, made this tracker using Google Sheets and it helps me on keeping track on what aspects or subject I need to focus on, what are my weaknesses, and what should I do to improve them. I already mentioned earlier that I use the book 1001 Solved Problems in Engineering Mathematics. I actually just borrowed this from Mari.
It mainly covers the subjects:
• Algebra
• Statistics
• Plane Geometry
• Solid Geometry
• Plane Trigonometry
• Spherical Trigonometry
• Analytic Geometry
• Differential Calculus
• Integral Calculus
• Differential Equations
• Advanced Engineering Math
• Physics
• Engineering Mechanics (Statics and Dynamics)
• Strength of Materials
• Engineering Economy
I have not completed answering the whole book yet and I still have a long way to go so... good luck to me! Well, I am still proud of myself today because I was able to edit my part on our thesis presentation and list down the parts that are still needed to be done for our Design Project. Just to share, our thesis revolves around adsorption of Arsenic(III) in simulated groundwater using treated biochar that we synthesized under different treatment methods. We aimed to enhance the adsorption capacity of conventional biochar, usually solely made from pyrolysis. We spent more than ₱80,000 in order to carry out this research. That amount might be small for some but as students in a public-funded state university, it was a lot. It was expensive. Not to mention other school expenses like our plant tours which cost us ₱5,000 each. Sigh... I just want to earn my own money now. Lots and lots of money. Anyway, our curriculum also required us to design a whole manufacturing plant: from the manufacturing process, product aspect, the equipment, to the capital and operational expenditures. I think this is a LOT harder to do than our thesis. We also needed to make the Process Flow Diagram, Block Flow Diagram, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, Plot Plan, among others. Our product was methyl ethyl ketone, by the way.
No effort goes unrewarded. Just a little more push and we'll finally finish these. We can do this!
Well, this has been a rather long entry. I'll end this here, then. Oh yeah, if you want a copy of that tracker I was telling you about, just tell me! I'll gladly give you one.
Hanggang sa muli,
King Guinny
